Debate Topic 2013-14

"Using plastic water bottles does more harm than good."

The Global Youth Debates topic 2013-14 was based on the need to develop knowledge around environmental sustainability, and related social and economic factors, and to be able to share this knowledge through researched and logical responses via a formal debate format.

The 2015 United Nations Millenium Development Goals - Goal 7: Ensure Environmental Sustainability talks about developing country policies and programmes to reverse the loss of environmental resources. It also talks about reducing the number of people around the world without access to safe drinking water.
